Stated simply, High Definition video means better looking pictures that bring you a step closer to reality. All High Definition systems use more digital information than today’s “Standard Definition” television systems to create a clearer, sharper, more detailed picture with more accurate colour reproduction.
While the first High Definition TV transmissions are now starting in Europe, most viewers today are still watching Standard Definition pictures.see Fig.1 These are transmitted using the PAL system that represents moving images using 625 horizontal lines of visible information.
HD pictures, in contrast, contain up to 1080 horizontal lines of information.see Fig.2 Coupled with an increase in horizontal resolution, this means that HD images contain more than five times as much visual information as a Standard Definition PAL television frame.

I was hugely impressed by the expedient and friendly service provided by Vision Medical during the purchase of a colposcope for our Spring Lodge SARC. There was no pressure to buy from the sales team who were happy to provide full details and information in relation to the equipment with no obligation. The colposcope purchased is ideal for use within a SARC and I first saw it working during a forensic course at St Marys SARC in Manchester and was impressed by its clean, compact and forensically compatible design and the unit is extremely light and portable.
