The new CerviCep™ disposable cervical biopsy punch forceps are about to enter full production. The final tooling is now in place and we have listened to our customers during the clinical evaluation phase and have made some significant improvements. A stronger hinge mechanism and serrated lower jaw with curved cutting tip ensures a smooth, less traumatic biopsy than has been experienced in the past with other forceps. The high tech new fibreglass and plastic compound material give the feel and strength of stainless steel, whilst maintaining the lightweight functionality is not impaired. The forceps will be made in the UK at our manufacturing partners, meaning we have full R&D and product support direct from the factory. Our expected date for full production shipping is January 2010. We will be re-visiting many departments in the coming weeks with final production samples that have been requested.
